The Challenge: Commissioned by a publishing house, the goal was to develop the technical manual for the MacArthur-Bates Communicative Development Inventory, a tool used by the University of Minho to assess child development. The challenge lay in managing a highly technical and dense body of information, ensuring that complex assessment grids and instructions were presented with absolute precision for healthcare and educational professionals.

The Solution: I was responsible for the entire design process, including the graphic concept, layout, and typesetting. Given the manual’s clinical and academic purpose, I developed a clean, structured editorial system that prioritized information hierarchy.
